Class Reward: Popcorn Party and A Video Call to South Korea

Fakalofa lahi atu friends and family,

On the 24th September, the Responsible Rhinos were treated to popcorn and a Skype session with children in South Korea. Before we made our popcorn we all made a popcorn holder for our popcorn. After morning tea we all went to the hall to look, listen and smell the popcorn popping in the microwave, we had a bag of popcorn between two people. We buddied up with someone that we usually don't buddy with then we lined up to get our popcorn bag. Next we waited to put our popcorn bag in the microwave and waited 2-3 minutes for the kernels to pop. After that we let Miss Fuataga take the hot bag out and put it to the side to cool down. We all went back to the class and split our popcorn bag with our buddy. We all had fun listening out for the popping sounds of the popcorn, enjoying the smell and best of all we loved tasting the buttery popcorn.
Here are some photos to show our popcorn experience.  Remember to keep reading to see what we did with our Skype to South Korea.

We are all closing our eyes so that we could focus on the sound of the popcorn.

After lunch we got to complete the class reward for the day by Video Calling South Korea. We talked to some students in Pine Class at Ryerson International School. We asked them many questions and enjoyed talking with them. Here are some of many questions that were asked.
Q: How old are you? A: 7 in Korean years
Q: Why do you look like that? A: We are Korean
Q: Do you know Mr Yoon? A: No
Q: Do you like school? A: Yes
Q: What is your favourite food? A: Kimchi

Ms Mahina, then followed with a tour of their school.
We loved talking to students in South Korea and are thinking about writing them a letter for Christmas.

Here are some of the photos we took with some of their students.

Pine Class in South Korea thought that we looked very odd with our onesies and PJs on, but we explained that it was to help fundraise to send our year sixes to camp in Term 4.
Come back for more reading on our MOTAT trip and kites.
