Greetings parents,

This is the last term for the year, it will be a busy one with Music classes in place and Athletics Day to work towards. Last term ended great with a popcorn party earned by room two by behaving and working very hard in class during the term.

We have many students who have moved up with reading levels and maths levels, this term we will work even harder to get to an even higher level. I do stress the importance of doing extra work at home. There will be basic maths, a poem, and spelling homework to take home for homework during the week; Monday will be the issue date starting in week 3, with the last Friday issue tomorrow. Readers will go home on Monday through to Thursday night. On Friday book bags will stay at school because of the weekend, during this time the children can be exposed to different text types such as the newspaper and magazines at home; this is a good time to read Duffy books as well.

In room two we plan to make musical instruments, so we will need your help, by bringing in empty cereal boxes, old unwanted shoe boxes, toilet paper rolls, hand towel rolls and recyclable bottles with ridges. We will be appreciative of anything, thank you.

The weather will warm up during the term, so it would be really good to see children coming to School with the School Hat, these are also available to purchase from the School Office for a low price of $10.00. It is encouraged that the children wear full school uniform so a Rowandale School hat would be complete.

If there are any concerns that you would like to discuss about your child, feel free to come see me before or after school.
