Strike Percussion

Malo e lelei friends and family,

Happy Tongan Language Week to all our Tongan family and friends in our community.

On Wednesday, we were lucky enough to witness a great strike percussion performance.

With only three men in the group, they could sure blast the school hall with a loud volume.  They came with instruments from around the world and played awesome beats with drums, bottles of spray, a mallet and odd enough with cans of fresh up.

We all agree that the strike percussion performance made us all happy and full of energy, some Rhinos really got in to it and drummed along on their own imaginary drums.

"It was like a movie" said some students.

"It was too loud" said others.

"I liked it because they could play music" said a few other students.

Here a few pictures of the Responsible Rhinos in front of the instruments and with Mr T and a video of the strike team drumming with instruments all the way from the Cook Islands - Aitutaki
